SXSW 2018 has got to be my favorite festival to attend, since I have been attending for the last 5 years. This year I was so thankful to have won a Platinum Badge from Candy Lab AR. Winning that badge allowed me to experience EVERYTHING at the festival in its entirety for the first time. I ended up being there from March 10-17th and I had a blast! I attend SXSW because I am a part of TCA (The Color Agent) that presents an annual music showcase. Usually, I just come to present and leave, but this year I decided to enjoy the whole festival so having that badge was exactly what I needed!

The first day at SXSW while wandering around Austin, I came across the Gatorade experience. While there, I got a chance to try out their latest products and play some awesome AR games which included basketball drills, and football simulations. After working up an appetite, I went to watch a great panel hosted by the New York Times that provided us with free food, and free drinks. In translation, my 2018 SXSW experience started off great!!

The second day, I got a chance to check out a new portable, foldable scooter that was recently funded by a crowdfunding campaign called Urb-E. They allowed us to try out the product for an hour around the streets of SXSW, and at top speeds, I got to check out every inch of the festival grounds. It was so great that we even ran into a few celebrities waiting to try them out in the lobby.

The next few days were spent going to some AWESOME panels! While hearing some great topics of discussion I got to meet Andy Cohn of the Fader, and I also got a chance to hear a great speech from David Banner. I got to meet some great people and was invited to a secret show for Morgan in an undisclosed location, and to a secret meet and greet with Linda Perry!

Three of my mornings were spent with Viceland doing yoga with baby goat, and most of my nights were spent at the VEVO house where of course the food and drinks were completely free. There I got to see, Ludacris, Tinashe, Jade Bird, Duckworth, and Dermot Kennedy just to name a few. I also ended up bumping into Now, Now and Steve Aoki there. But the highlight of my experience there was getting to see Noah Cyrus and having her call me out as her dance partner. P.S her mom Tish is super sweet!

As if my trip could have not gotten any better, I was invited to a daytime networking event that offered us free massages to rejuvenate visitors from the fast paced of SXSW, and I ended up connecting with some key players in music technology that could assist me with my business ventures for next year’s festival. I also got a chance to go to an all-female showcase with Rapsody as the headliner!

The last day was my event and it went EXTREMELY well! All the people I met throughout the week came to support our efforts and we ended up being able to spread our company message to a massive amount of people. Our company, The Color Agent (TCA), is a media and events company that provides mainstream opportunities to artists from the community. Our primary focus is scouting artists from all genres worldwide and connecting them with major outlets with talent as the core foundation.
